Wednesday, June 30 - Depart from Detroit Metro Airport at 6:35 PM on British Airways flight 202 to London (7 hour 25 minute flight)

Thursday, July 1 - Arrive at London Heathrow Airport at 7:00 AM local time. Depart from London Heathrow Airport at 8:50 AM on British Airways flight 700 to Vienna Arrive at Vienna Airport at 12:00 noon local time (2 hour 10 minute flight) Explore Vienna with Scouts and leaders from the Perchtoldsdorf Scout Group. (Perchtoldsdorf is a town outside of Vienna.) Stay in their group Scout house. Our time in Vienna is being organized by a leader of the Perchtoldsdorf group, who we met on our 1994 Europe trip. Sunday, July 4 - Take the train from Vienna to Budapest. (10:07 AM -1:03 PM). Stay with host families from Troop 400, Budapest, and explore Budapest and the surrounding area with their Scouts. (Troop 400 hosted us in 1994 and Scouts and leaders from Troop 400 made up the Hungarian contingent to the 1997 Michigan International Camporee.) The program they have planned is a commemoration ceremony with a wreath-laying ceremony at the cemetery of American soldiers fallen in the battle to liberate Hungary in World War II and a party on July 4, a sightseeing trip and lunch in Budapest on July 5, and a trip to Szentendre including a visit to the open air museum, a walk in the woods and a match of 'méta' (similar to baseball) on July 6.

Wednesday, July 7 - Take the train from Budapest to Bratislava (10:30 AM - 1:10 PM) where we will be met by the leader of the Slovakian contingent to the 1997 Michigan International Camporee and Scouts and leaders from his Scout group, the 17th Bratislava. In the afternoon, visit the waterfront on the Danube River and have some games and activities in their Scout cottage near Bratislava.

Thursday, July 8 - Take the 5 hour trip to a campsite near Vychodna in the Tatra Mountains of north central Slovakia. Spend several days in summer camp with 20 to 25 Scouts and leaders of the 17th Bratislava, visiting some mountains and other natural wonders of Slovakia. One of the highlights of this stay will be a trip directly into the High Tatra Mountains.

Monday, July 12 - Return to Bratislava, with a stop in Banska Stiavnica, a historical mining town with a short visit to a gold mine and a mineralogical museum.

Tuesday, July 13 -Spend the day visiting Bratislava, with time for washing, laundering and rest. In the evening, take the overnight train from Bratislava to Dresden and on to Berlin. (10:54 PM - 7:02 AM Bratislava to Dresden, Germany in couchettes, a couple of hours to wander around Dresden, and 9:13 AM - 11:31 AM Dresden to Berlin (Zoo station)) We will be hosted in Berlin by Troop 46 BSA.

Friday, July 16 - Take the train from Berlin to Kliplev, Denmark (Members of the Kliplev Scout Group will meet us at the Padborg train station on the German-Danish border.) (9:29 AM - 11:54 AM Berlin Zoo to Hamburg and 12:37 PM - 2:39 PM Hamburg to Padborg). We will stay with host families in Kliplev. The program they have planned is Friday in the host families, Saturday Trip to Dybbøl Mill, the site of an historic battle between the Danes and the Germans and picnic or grill party with the parents, Sunday with the host families, and Monday Trip to Ribe, one of the oldest town in Denmark.

Tuesday, July 20, to Thursday, July 29 - Participate in the Blue Summer National Camp of the Danish Guide and Scout Association at Stevninghus Scout Camp near Kliplev. We will camp as part of the Kliplev Scout Group. Over 21,000 Scouts are currently registered. The schedule:

Tuesday: All the scouts from Kliplev Group and Troop 180 meet each other at 09.00 and walk together to the camp at Stevninghus. Troop 180 and Kliplev Troop raise tents and arrange our camp with fireplace, kitchen table, chopping place and so on.

Wednesday: We finish setting up our camp and start building "Banen" (The Track), our activity. We will build a place to play midget golf, bowling, petanque and croquet with the Scouts of the Kliplev Group. Blaa Sommer opening ceremony.

Thursday: We finish "Banen" (The Track)

Friday: Bus trip to Legoland. Evening campfire in "Pilekrattet" Subcamp

Saturday: Celebration of 90 years of Danish Scouting (The Danish Guide and Scout Association started in 1909)

Sunday: Religious Service. The camp is open to visitors.

Monday: We start preparing an activity for "Nettet" (The Network) The Kliplev group will be making "riding at the ring" with homemade horses!! We will help them and work on our own Frisbee activity. We participate in "Nettet" (The Network)

Tuesday: We are go on an overnight hike in combined patrols with the Kliplev Group.

Wednesday: We return from the overnight hike and break the camp. Final ceremony.

Thursday, July 29 - Leave camp and return to host families in Kliplev.

Friday, July 30 - Take the train from Padborg to Cologne (9:20 AM - 11:27 PM Padborg to Hamburg, and 11:53 PM - 3:50 PM Hamburg to Cologne). We will be hosted by the Karthago-Persepolis troop in Cologne. Their plan for Saturday is: We meet each other and take the subway to the cathedral of Cologne (= Dom). Here we climb the 555 steps (they are very small!) and want to enjoy the view over Cologne (if the weather is not too bad). Then we go down and walk through the old part of Cologne. Here we could eat. We could eat some lunch-packages or eat a pizza at my favorite Italian restaurant. There they sell the pizza also outside, it's a smaller one, but very delicious. Then we go further to the Rhine and to the Chocolate-museum. Here you can learn everything about chocolate and, of course you can try some chocolate. Next to this museum a new sport-museum is build. I don't know if it will be ready in the summer. Than we drive home and have a short break. In the evening we want to make a little party, where all of our scouts can come and where we could have a nice evening.

Monday morning, August 2 - Take the train from Cologne to Amsterdam. (9:27 AM - 12:37 PM). We will stay in a Scout house in Zwanenburg, near Amsterdam, and see some of the sights of the area.

Wednesday, August 4 - Depart from Amsterdam (Schiphol Airport) at 10:15 AM on British Airways flight 427 to London Arrive at London Heathrow Airport 10:30 AM (1 hour 15 minute flight) Depart from London Heathrow Airport 12:35 PM, August 4, on British Airways flight 203 to Detroit. Arrive Detroit Metro Airport 3:45 PM (8 hour 10 minute flight).
