East Lansing Project Pride
May 31, 2008

Project Pride is a day when residents can recycle for free or low cost, their items that are usually more difficult.  This includes paint, lumber, furniture, books, and all the traditional recycling like cans, paper, magazine, bottles.

As for the past few years, Troop 180 Scouts will volunteer at East Lansing Project Pride.  The city-wide recycling effort takes place at Abbott Center (1400-1500 Abbott Road, one block North of Saginaw) Saturday, June 2, from 7:30 am to 3 pm.  Scouts can participate for all or part of the day (7:30-11:45 am and 11:15 am to 3:15 pm), and will help with un-loading stuff to be recycled from cars, loading material into trucks, etc.

This effort counts as a troop activity for Second Class and First Class and counts for service hours for Second Class, Star, and Life.  Wear old clothes (not uniforms).  Parents also are invited to help out.  Volunteers are provided breakfast and pizza at lunch.  You also get a cool t-shirt.
