Camporee
For: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Venturers from the United States and Canada and patrols of Scouts, either all boys or mixed boys and girls, from other countries. All participants must be registered members of Scout units and must be at least 12 years old or have completed the sixth grade in school by August 1, 2000. U.S. Boy Scouts must be at least First Class by that date. Other participants must have similar camping experience. Twelve year olds must be endorsed by adult leaders who will participate in the camporee. The maximum age for youth participants is 17.
Program: Swimming, rowing, canoeing, fishing, tubing, Scoutcraft, nature, archery, and rifle and shotgun shooting, along with games and challenge activities, special theme activities relating to Michigan history, and opportunities for our international guests to share songs, games, and other Scouting activities from their countries.

Uniforming: Requirements will be the same as at World Jamborees and U.S. National Jamborees. All Boy Scouts of America participants will be required to wear full official BSA uniforms including shirt, shorts, socks, and belt, at the opening and closing ceremonies and at campwide campfires, and participants from other Scout associations will be expected to wear their uniforms at those events.
Cost: There is no fee for the camporee itself, including tents, food and cooking equipment, for one patrol of up to 8 Scouts and 2 leaders from each country outside of the United States and Canada. The camporee fee is US $ 225 including food, for U.S. and Canadian Scouts and US $ 80 including food, for US and Canadian adult troop leaders and staff members. All Scouts and leaders are expected to pay their own transportation cost to and from Michigan
Airport: Patrols from outside the U.S. and Canada should try to book arrivals and departures through Capital City Airport, Lansing, Michigan (LAN). If there is a significant transportation cost saving, requests can be made to be met at the Detroit Airport (DTW).
