Troop/Crew Annual Dues Now Due
Time for Troop/ Crew 180 to recharter. Meaning, 2005/06 Troop/ Crew 180
Dues are now due. The good news is that dues have been reduced to $90
for the '05/'06 Scouting year. Dues can be paid at this Tuesday night
Court of Honor.
- A Troop 180 member and/or Male Crew 180 member under 18 - Dues are $90.00.
- A Female Crew 180 member under 18 - Dues are $40.00.
- Anyone 18 or older registering for Troop and/or Crew 180 - Dues are
$10.00.
- If you would also like a Boys Life Subscription - add $12.00 (to the dues
above)
Dues can be paid out of the Scout's escrow account.
- Escrow accounts; To acquaint parents of new Scouts with our terminology,
"escrow" is an account that the Troop 180 treasury holds for each Scout.
The
Troop/Crew earns 30% of popcorn sales revenues. 50% of the Troop's earnings
(15% of the total revenue) of a Scout's popcorn sales are placed into that
escrow account along with earnings from other fund raisers like the tape sale.
A Scout may use his escrow account money for Scout uniform parts, camping
equipment, summer camp, dues and major Scouting trips. It may not be
used for non-Scouting purposes.
- The $90 dues ($40 for female Crew) may be either a direct payment or come
from escrow funds.
- Registered adults pay the $10 national BSA registration fee. There
is no additional fee. This also applies to anyone between 18 and 20 who
is registered as an adult leader in Troop 180, a youth member of Crew 180, or
both. There is no fee for adults who have their primary registration
elsewhere and multiple register with Troop or Crew 180.
- There is no additional fee to register with both Troop 180 and Crew 180.
- Anyone may subscribe to BOYS LIFE magazine at the time of rechartering for
an additional $12.00.
- Financial assistance is available, to ensure all Scouts can participate in
the learning and fun.
